Colonel Littleberry Leftwich was born in 1757 in Bedford County, Virginia. He married Frances Hopkins in 1778. He married Frances Halley in 1811. He had seven children by his first wife. There were no children by the second marriage. He served as a major in the United States Army in the War of 1812. He was appointed Lieutenant Colonel of the Tenth regiment of the Virginia Militia. At the time of his death in 1823, all of his children lived in the state of Tennessee. Descendants
